J. Lori Ye is a dedicated researcher specializing in the social aspects of technology. Having graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Integrated Social Sciences from Pennsylvania State University’s College of Liberal Arts, Ye is set to pursue her MSc in Sociology at the University of Oxford.

Throughout her undergraduate career, Ye served as the Principal Investigator on a project examining the perceptions of singlehood and online dating among college students in the United States. This research, funded by the Pennsylvania State University Student Engagement Network Grant, provided valuable insights into the attitudes and behaviors of young adults navigating modern dating landscapes. In addition to this project, Ye further developed her research skills as a Lab Manager and Research Assistant at the Online Students of Psychology Lab at Pennsylvania State University and refined her data analytics and R programming abilities through the University of Chicago’s Data & Policy Summer Scholar Program.

Ye has presented her research at notable conferences, including the Rocky Mountain Psychological Association Annual Convention and the Society for Personality and Social Psychology Annual Convention. Honored for her academic excellence, Ye has received a number of awards, such as the Evan Pugh Scholar Award (top 0.5% of the senior class), and was chosen as a Student Marshal for the 2023 University Spring Commencement. Actively engaged in her field, she is a member of various professional associations, including the Society for Personality and Social Psychology, the American Society of Criminology, and the American Psychological Association.
